Android Mobiles in India have captured the mobile market of India. Each and every brand except Nokia is busy launching new android phones in India. Recently HTC launched the successor of its best selling mobile, HTC Wildfire. HTC Launched the latest HTC Wildfire S which has everything to boast and no doubt it has become one of the best mid budget mobiles in India. HTC Wildfire S has a direct competition with Samsung's best selling smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Ace.Both these phones walk neck to neck in terms of features, I am writing this post to elaborate on their features and do a comparison of Samsung Galaxy Ace vs HTC Wildfire S.
Operating System:
Wildfire S has been launched recently so it has the latest android OS, i.e. Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Galaxy Ace was launched few months back with Android 2.2 Froyo, but it is upgradable to Android 2.3 and Samsung has recently launched its update also. So in terms of OS, they are Same.
Processor:
Wildfire S is powered by 600 Mhz Processor where as Galaxy Ace is powered by 800 Mhz ARM 11 Processor, Galaxy Ace also has an additional Adrena 200 GPU which helps in handling graphic oriented applications. So in terms of processor, Galaxy Ace is the winner ( +1 for Ace)
Display and Screen:
Wildfire S has a 3.2 inch LCD Capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels with HTC Sense UI. Galaxy Ace is having a 3.5 inch TFT LCD HVGA display screen with 320 x 480 pixels and 16M Colors. I will again vote for Ace here. (+2 for Ace)
Camera:
Wildfire S has a 5 MP Camera with LED Flash, Auto Focus and VGA Video recording at 24fps. It does not have secondary camera for Video Calling. Galaxy Ace also has a 5 MP Camera with LED Flash, Geo Tagging and Auto Focus. It has QVGA Video recording at 15fps. It also does not have Video Calling. So here not much of a difference in camera, but considering the quality of HTC Cameras, I will here vote for HTC Wildfire S (+1 for Wildfire S)
Battery:
Wildfire S has a 1230 mAh Li-Ion Battery with 2G Talktime of 7 Hours and 3G Talktime of 5.8 Hours. Galaxy Ace has a 1350 Li-Ion Battery with 11 Hours 2G Talk time and 7 Hours 3G Talk time. Here again Ace has better battery (+3 for Ace)
Connectivity:
Wildfire S has 3G Connectivity with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA,Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n, Bluettoth 3.0 , GPRS, EDGE, Micro USB v2.0 and GPS. Galaxy Ace has 3G with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, Micro USB 2.0, A-GPS and also has DLNA. The presence of DLNA gives upper hand to Ace again. (+4 for Ace)
Memory:
Wildfire S has a inbuilt 512MB RAM and can be expandable up to 32GB via a Micro SD Card. Galaxy Ace has an internal memory lesser than Wildfire, it has 158 MB Internal memory expandable up to 32GB. Here, Wildfire has a Upper hand. (+2 for Wildfire S)
Conclusion:
I compared these two smartphones on above seven parameters and we saw that Ace wins in 4, Wildfire wins in 2 and 1 is same for both. So as per features Galaxy Ace is the clear winner, however now comes the price. HTC Wildfire S Price in India is Rs.13,800 and Galaxy Ace Price is Rs.14,800. So at a mere difference of Rs.1000, I think one should surely go for Galaxy Ace. I will conclude with saying that Ace is currently the best smartphone in India under Rs.15,000
