Motorola Fire Vs Sony Ericsson W8 Comparison

Motorola Mobile India recently announced its latest smartphone in India, Motorola Fire. Moto Fire is a Touch and Type Android 2.3 based smartphone. It was recently launched in India at a Price of Rs.9000. It is a very good phone and we thought of comparing it with Sony Ericsson W8, which is also a Android phone in almost the same price range. W8 Price in India is Rs.10,000. Here goes the brief comparison of these two phones.




 
Sizeand Design:
Motorola Fire features a Full QWERTYkeyboard and a big touchscreen to go with it whereas W8 is completely a touchscreensmart phone. Both smartphones have decently large touchscreen in the portrait format.Sony Ericsson W8 is quiet compact having a length of 99mm, 54mm width and 15mmof depth in contrast to Fire which is 116mm long 58mm wide and 13.5mm thick.

Display:
Motorola Fire features a 2.8inch TFTcapacitive touch screen with 256K color support whereas Sony Ericsson W8 has aslightly larger 3.0 Inch TFT capacitive touch screen with same resolution andcolor support. W8 comes with TimeScape UI with scratch resistant surface andFire features the Moto SwitchUI.  W8 hasa higher pixel density, 192ppi compared to 143ppi of Fire giving it an edgeover its Fire’s display.

Camera:
Both phones have a 3.15MP camera highestimage resolution of 2048*1536 pixels and lacks the auto focus and LED flash.Fire records video at 24fps whereas W8 records at 30fps.

Processorand OS:
Both smart phones feature600Mhz processorpowered by Adreno 200 GPU. Fire runs Android2.3(Gingerbread) OS whereas W8 has the older v2.1 of Android which pales it abit in front of Fire especially with both phones having the same processingpower.

StorageCapacity:
Fire has 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROMcompared to SE W8’s 168MB of RAM and 128MB of internal memory. Both phonessupport memory extension up to 32GB with microSD card.
Connectivity:
Both smart phones support 3G and haveBluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, Wi-Fi802.11 b/g, and micro USB 2.0.

Conclusion:
The presence of QWERTY keypad and Android 2.3 gives Motorola Fire an edge over W8.
