HTC Radar Windows Mango Smartphone

At a Launch event at London HTC has launcheda couple of new smartphones: HTC Radar and HTC Titan, running the Microsoft’slatest OS called the Mango. This will bolster up the struggling Microsoft thatis finding it hard to get a decent market share from Apple iOS and GoogleAndroid. With this launch HTC now becomes the second company to feature the MangoOS in its smart phones after Fujitsu Toshiba mobile communications announcedthe same for their IS12T. The smart phones will be available toHTC and Microsoft fans across Asia and Europe from the next month. Here we havereviewed HTC Radar on multiple fronts to give you aglimpse about this new Microsoft Mango OS based smart phone from HTC.

 

Size and Design:

HTC mobile usually feature innovative designswith premium materials and Radar is no different. Similarly like the Desire andSensation it features moulded aluminium body. Radar doesn’t have the slimmestof design infect it is a decently large device being 120.5mm long, 61.5mm wideand10.9mm in depth. 

Display:

It features a 3.8 inch S-LCD capacitive TFTtouchscreen having the resolution of 400*800 pixels and 16M colour support. Thepixel density is 246ppi which is on the higher side so you can expect the displayto be quiet sharp. The display is a gorilla glass one and it featuresmulti-touch input method, there’s a also proximity sensor for auto turn-off, accelerometerfor auto rotate and gyroscope sensor.

Camera:

It comes with a 5MP autofocus camera with F2.2 Lens, LEDflash, the maximum image resolution is 2592*1944pixels. It record HD 720p videoat 30fps. There is also a secondary VGA camera in the phone.

Processor and OS:

Radar features 1GHz Scorpion processor powered by Adreno 205 GPU on a Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragonchipset and runs Microsoft Mobile Windows 7 OS (Mango).

Storage Capacity:

It has 8GB of internal memory and there’s nocard slot for memory expansion which would rather be a disappointment for thefans. RAM is 512MB.

Connectivity:

It has 3G support apart from Bluetooth v2.1with A2DP and EDR, Wi-FI, and micro USB 2.0.

Battery:

The 1520mAH battery is capable of providing upto 330hrs of stand by time and up to 7hrs of talk time.

HTC Titan with Windows Mango Launched

HTC Mobiles have launchedits two latest smartphones the HTC Titan and HTC Radar running on the Microsoft’s latestOperating system called the Mango. HTC is the second manufacturer to feature the Mango OSafter Fujitsu Toshiba mobile communication. At the launch event in London the official said that the smartphoneswill be available from next month in Asia and Europe. Size and Design:

HTC is renownedfor its elegant designs and Titan design is no different even though it’s a giantsmart phone. We have seen the previous HTC phones built with premium materialsand Titan like the Desire and Sensation features moulded aluminium body. It hasa huge screen and the phone is 131.5mm long 70.7mm wide and has a weightof16og. That’s quiet a size but even with such dimensions and weight it is only9.9mm thick.

Display:

It featuresS-LCD capacitive touchscreen having a huge size of 4.7 inch. Not many smartphones feature such a giant screen. The screen resolution is 480*800 pixels andthe pixel density is 199ppi.It features the multi-touch input method, proximitysensor for auto turn off, accelerometer for auto rotate and gyroscope sensor.

Camera:

The giant smartphone has a big 8MP camera with auto focus and LED flash. The maximum imageresolution is 3264x2448 pixels. Unfortunately there aren’tany image enhancing features but it offers geo-tagging. It is able to record HD720p video and also features 1.3MP secondary video call camera.

Processor and OS:

It features 1.5 GHzScorpion processor powered by Adreno 205 GPU on a Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset.There is 512MB of RAM to go with it and run the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 MangoOS.

Storage Capacity:

The internalstorage capacity of the phone is 16GB and that’s all what it has as there is nocard slot in the phone which really is a set back for such a big device.

Connectivity:

It featuresWi-Fi with DLNA, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR and micro USB 2.0 apart fromthe 3G support.

Battery:

The 16oomAHbattery is capable of providing up to 460hrs of Stand by time and up to 6hrs50min of talk time on 3G coverage. 

Our Opinion: 
Monster of a smartphone, only glitch is price and performance of Mango OS. Otherwise everything seems perfect.

Samsung Omnia 7 Announced with Windows 7 OS

Samsung has announced a new Smartphone in its Omnia Series, This one is Samsung Omnia 7 and it operates on Windows Phone 7 Operating System. Omnia 7 has been launched just at the time when Microsoft is going to launch the Windows Phone 7. Omnia 7 comes with key features such as Super AMOLED Screen, It has a 4 Inch display and the resolution is 800 x 480.

Omnia 7 also has a 1 Ghz  Qualcomm "Snapdragon" Processor. It also has a Inbuilt 8GB Storage Memory. The camera is at 5MP and you can expect excellent imaging with Auto Focus and Dual LED Flash. It can record videos at 720p HD Video quality at 25 Frames per second. Other features includes A-GPS, FM Radio, Bing Maps, Wi-Fi and Quad Band GSM network. The Bluertooth version is 2.1 , however many new phones from Samsung are sporting Bluetooth 3.0
