Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 has passed quite some time in the market but this Smartphone in India is still in competition with the other latest smartphones in India. It has everything that can satisfy a tech savvy smartphone user of today. Starting from the large high resolution screen to the Snapdragon CPU’s smooth performance it will continue amazing you for a long time. The phone was loaded with Android 1.6 Donut which was a real setback for such a device of such capability. The response of the UI was slow and sometime it was totally unresponsive. And there were a good number of problems when the phone was used with the Android version it was released with, Android 1.6. But after the release of the update of the Android version the phone’s true capabilities started to come out. The phone became even faster and lots of new feature became available when Android 2.1 Éclair was released for the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10. The most visible change was the change of response speed of the UI and the video recording capability. The video recording capability of this phone is WVGA at best when its running with Android 1.6 but when you upgrade it to 2.1 the video recording capacity dramatically improves to 720p HD quality. And there are of course many minor tweaks in the upgraded OS which are needless to mention like the new fonts or the bigger notification bar. It has a lot more to talk about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 as the number of good features is high. Especially the 8-megapixel autofocus camera and 4-inch capacitive touchscreen is a real multimedia boost to the phone which is supported by the great audio quality for which SE is already famous for. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor is more than enough for a phone to operate smoothly with the old Android 2.1 Éclair. The 3G connectivity is also great which maxes at 7.2Mbps speed.

Review:
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 gives two completely different experiences with the two versions of Android operating system. When the first Android smartphone from Sony Ericsson, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 was released, it faced huge number of complains due to its unresponsiveness and some missing features which a phone with such configuration should have. The response from SE was quite impressive. They worked it out quickly and when the Android 2.1 Éclair update was released most of the complaints were fixed and a good number of new features were added. So if you are using the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 or planning to buy this phone of course update that to Android 2.1 or later as you will be missing a number of features and fixes unless you update it. The phone with such processor should have supported DivX and XviD support but the phone does not support these two formats. Being a 3G phone it does not have any front camera for video calls. The browser is also missing the Flash support unlike most of the 1GHz Android phones.
