Nokia C7 vs Samsung Wave II S8530 Comparison

Nokia C7 in India had a very good run after the launch but soon the competition got tougher with the launch of Samsung Wave II S8530 in India .Samsung Wave was the first phone to have the Samsung’s own BADA OS, the upgraded Wave II also sees an upgrade in OS and it also retains the other fascinating features. Here we have compared the important features of both the phone to see which one is in worth buying.

Display:
Samsung Wave II features Super clear LCD capacitive touch screen with 16M color support. The 3.7 inch crispy capacitive touch screen is so good that it is comparable with that of iPhone’s. The phone has a nice luxurious look with the exterior made from brushed aluminum having anodized taupe finishing.
Nokia C7 has 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen with16M colors, it’s also very crisp, bright and responsive but surely not as good as the Wave-II .Wave-II also has a significantly higher resolution screen with 800x480 compared to 640x360 of C7. The body is all made of stainless steel and glass with nicely curved edges. On display front you have to give it to Samsung for a much better capacitive touch screen.

Operating System:
Samsung upgrades it BADA OS that we saw in the previous model to BADA v1.2. It seems to be working well on Samsung Wave-II but lack of apps is certainly going to be a disadvantage. Nokia C7 has the latest Symbian 3 OS. Nokia Ovi store apps are certainly going to out number those of Samsung’s but again it’s the quality of the apps that matter. You have to give it to Nokia Symbian 3 on the OS that looks more prominent compared to the newbie, BADA.

Processor And Storage:
Samsung leads the way with its 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor compared to Wave-II’s ARM11, 680 MHz, so Wave-II has one that’s about 50% faster than C7’s, to go with it both have 256MB of RAM but C7’s offer 8GB of internal memory with Wave-II having only 2GB. Both the phones support SD memory card up to 32GB.

Camera:
Nokia C7 has a clear advantage on camera front having 8MP resolution, 3264x2448 pixels, fixed focus and dual LED. It is capable of recording HD video 720p at 25fps. Wave has a 5MP auto focus camera, 2592 x 1944 pixels with LED flash. It is also capable of recording 720p video at 30fps. Both the phone also has a secondary VGA camera too.

Connectivity:
Both the phones have 3G , Wifi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP. Wave-II has micro USB 2.0, so do C7 along with USB on the go support.

Price in India:
Nokia C7 Price in India is Rs.18,399. Buy Online in India at Rs.16,732
Samsung Wave II S8530 Price in India is Rs.20,990. Buy Online in India at Rs.16,499

Conclusion:
Overall Nokia C7 has a slight edge over Samsung Wave-II with a higher resolution camera and OS that is going to offer more if you are looking for apps. Better display and processing power of Wave-II can get your vote if you are not much in to apps. Both phones have approx the same price.
My Vote goes for Samsung Wave II because of its processor and sluggish behavior of Symbian 3 in Nokia C7
