Sizeand Design:

The phone weighs only 69.9g. The design isa compact one, the keypad is quiet impressive and have larger buttons makingtyping fun. It is 110mm long and just 45.5mm wide. May be a little on thethicker side having depth of 14.9mm. The best part of the phone is itsavailability in different colors. Today buying a mobile phone in India is not easy, we are spoilt with choices. So many brands, so many phones, smartphones, Android, Symbian, Dual core processor, this UI, that UI and what not. In this post I am going to talk about best smartphones in India in the range of Rs.15,000 to Rs.20,000. Well this is a very common budget of urban India. 1. LG Optimus Black:

LG Optimus Black is the first phone to befeaturing the NOVA display technology, the display is surely one of thebrightest around if not the brightest. The focus of LG Optimus Black isprimarily on all round experiences rather than on raw processing power.  It still features a 1GHz processor and 512MBof RAM which will be more than enough to run any Android app.

KeyFeatures:

The key features of the phone includes a giant4 inch screen with NOVA display and 700 nits of brightness, the capacitive IPSLCD unit is supported by 16M color. A 9mm touch screen bar. Dual brand 3Gsupport. Google Android Froyo which is upgradable to Gingerbread, with GestureUI 2.0 and LG Home launcher 2.0. It Features a 5MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash. Disadvantages:

There are a fewdisadvantages associated with the phone too, the HD video clips plays withdistorted aspect ratio, there is also no dedicated key for camera and the audioquality is also not quiet up to the mark.

2. Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

 Samsung Galaxy SL is the successor to the popularGalaxy S. There is no difference in the design of the phones but we do have anew screen, a different battery and a new CPU here. Many other internals havealso been replaced but there is not a lot of difference in the user experience.

Disadvantages:

A few disadvantages associated with the phone includelack of flash and dedicated camera key with the 5MP camera, all plasticbody.  The GPU is less capable to theoriginal Galaxy S. The loudspeaker is feeble and the size and weight of the phoneis also increased.

3. MotorolaXT 800

We have heard a lot about a smart phone withdual SIM capabilities, have we? Motorola XT 800 is one phone of this kind. Itdoesn’t only support two SIM at a time but also features the GoogleAndroidv2.1. The phone promises to provide high end entertainment on the move.

KeyFeatures:

It features a 5MP camera with excellent videorecording capabilities. It also has decent connectivity features having Wi-Fi,Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and micro USB 2.0. The processing power of the deviceis 550 MHz with 512MB of RAM. It also supports GPS connectivity and 3Gnetworks.

Disadvantages:

The phone lacks an upgrading of the OS, andnot really suited for enterprise usage but still has a very attractive pricefor the features it has.

4. NokiaE6

Nokia E6 is a business smart phone from Nokiathat also has the privilege to be their first phone running the new AnnaOS.  E6 has a full QWERTY keyboard and atouch screen to go with it. The display is quiet sharp; the pixel density ofthe phone is even higher than that of iPhone’s Retina Eye display. The featuresthat previous E-series models had were becoming a little too conventional butE6 has got a lot new it, a much needed change.

Itrecords HD 720p video at 25fps. The internal storage capacity of the phone isimpressive 8GB plus the support for microSD card up to 32GB. On theconnectivity front it has Wi-Fi,Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB 2.0 with USB on-the-go feature, GPS receiverwith A-GPS, HDMI port and 3.5mm audio jack.

Disadvantages:

The processing power of the phone is very muchon the lower end compared to the other high end smart phones having at least 1 GHzprocessor while many have got the dual core. The screen size is quiet small andthere is no HDMI port.

Recently Nokia launched few Dual SIM Phones in India. Since Nokia is losing out in the high range mobile market because of Android Era, Nokia took a smart step to capture the mid range and low range mobile market in India. Nokia Dual SIM Mobile Phones are quite decent and very much reliable than the ones released by brands like Micromax, Karbonn etc. Nokia currently has 4 dual SIM Mobile phones available in India. NokiaX1-01 is one from the Nokia Express music range. One can call it a Walkman withphone features. X1-01 is quiet impressive, again at a low price you can fulfillyour needs of dual SIM working at the same time. It also offer wonderful musicplayer with excellent battery. You can enjoy up to 36hrs of non stop music withNokia X1-01. The talk time is up to 13hrs, which will definitely impress theusers as we haven't seen many dual SIM phone having that good a battery. Nokia 101:

Nokia 101is somewhat a little advance than the brother Nokia 100. Nokia 101 features anMP3 player and supports microSD memory card up to 16GB. Nokia 101 Dual SIM Mobile Review

In a bid to hold the fort in low range mobile phones market in India, Nokia recently launched their cheap Dual SIM Mobile phone, Nokia 101 in India. Nokia 101 is a Dual SIM GSM Mobile with basic features such as 1.8 Inch screen, FM Radio and expandable memory. It is a very basic dual SIM phone but would really be a good choice if you are just looking for a phone which only does one thing i.e. normal talking :). Nokia 101 Price in India is Rs.1,600 

 

Sizeand Design:

The phone weighs only 69.9g to start offwith. It has a compact design having a width of only 45.5mm. It is 110mm longand 14.9mm thick. The phone is available in Phantom Black, Coral Red colors.

Display:

It features 1.8 inch TFT screen having 65Kcolors support and resolution of 128 x 160. The pixel density is 114ppi.


Camera:

We would have loved to have a camera inhere but unfortunately Nokia 101 has no place for it.

StorageCapacity:

The internal memory can hold up to 500contacts. What you also have is a microSD card slot that can support up to16GBof card.

Connectivity:

What is the most disappointing aspect ofthe phone is no support for GPRS. Anyways itne paise mein itna hi milega ;)

Battery:

It features a Li-Ion 1020 mAh (BL-5C) whichcan provide up to 768 h of standby by time and up to 8 h 30 min of talk time.

OtherFeatures:

It also features a flashlight, MP3 player, Organizerand Predictive text input.

Motorola Fire vs Nokia E5 Comparison

Motorola Mobiles India have recently launched its latest Android mobile in India with QWERTY keyboard  and touchscreen, the Motorola Fire. This phone is surely going to have a good competition with exisiting QWERTY mobile phones in India. In this post we will compare Motorola Fire with Nokia's most successful QWERTY Mobile in India in recent times, i.e. Nokia E5

 

 

Sizeand Design:

Both phones even though having the QWERTYkeyboard style have different designs. Nokia Eh has the screen in landscapescape mode making the phone a little wider 59.5 mm compared to Motorola Fire59mm having the screen encased in portrait format. Fire is also a little longer116.5mm in contrast to 115mm E5. Nokia E5 is however slimmer than the competitorhaving depth of 12.8 in comparison to 13.5mm of Fire.

Display:

Motorola Fire features a 2.8 inch TFTcapacitive touchscreen having a resolution of 240*320 pixels with 262K colorsupport. The 2.36 inch screen of Nokia E5 is not a touchscreen having aresolution of 320*240 with same 256K color support. Motorola Fire with itstouch and type feature and bigger screen is the winner here.

Camera:

Fire comes with a 3.15MP camera with outthe touch focus and LED flash whereas Nokia E5 is equipped with a 5MP camerawith LED flash but also lacking the autofocus. Fire camera is able to recordvideo with maximum resolution of 480p at 24fps compared to 15fps VGA videorecording in E5. Nokia E5 having a better camera wins this battle.

Processorand OS:

Motorola Fire features a 600 MHz ARM11 processor powered by Adreno 200 GPU on Qualcomm MSM7227-1 chipset and runsthe android OS 2.3(Gingerbread). Nokia E5 also comes with a 600MHz Arm 11processor running the Symbian OS v9.3. Motorola Fire with Android OS has a lotmore to offer when it comes to apps, again giving it a slight edge over NokiaE5.

Storage Capacity:

Motorola Fire has 256MB of RAM and 512MB ROM whereas E5 has250MB of internal memory and 256MB of RAM. Both phones support memory extensionup to 32GB via micro SDMC.

Connectivity:

There is nothing much to choose from between the onconnectivity front with both having Bluetooth, Wi-FI, micro USB2.0 and 3Gsupport.


Conclusion:
Nokia E5 is better in terms of only the Camera, which I think is not the most important feature of a mobile phone. Motorola Fire excels in terms of processor and hardware. Motorola Fire should no doubt be the choice in this case.


Price in India:
Both the phones are in the range of Rs.9000 as of September 2011. The prices may change by the time you read this post.

It features a TFT capacitive touchscreen.Most of the phones in the market having the touch and type features are thesmart phones but c2-01 are one of those rare devices that have this touch andtype feature with out the phone being a smart phone. It features a 5MP camera with maximum imageresolution of 2592*1944 pixels. It is able to record VGA video at 30fps whichis also an improvement from the earlier edition.

Another great improvement that we see inthis gold edition is the boost of processing power that is now 1 GHz making thephone really a high end device.

It features Bluetooth version 2.1 with A2Dpand micro USB 2.0 the phone also supports Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Internal Storage Capacity of the phoneis 140MB and to go with it there is 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM. The externalstorage can be extended up to 32GB via micro SD memory card.

Battery:

Nokia 701 Coming in India Soon

Nokia Mobiles have launched the latest Symbian Belle powered smartphones. It includes Nokia 600, 700 and 701. In this post we will talk about Nokia 701. Nokia 701 is Symbian smartphone with 1Ghz Processor, 3G Connectivity, 8 MP Camera, 3.5 inch LED Backlick IPS TFT Display. It also features the Nokia ClearBlack display. Blackberry Bold 9900 has probably got the best one on it seen so far on Blackberry phones. Nokia’s keyboard is not far behind too. Both the smart phones have very much the same dimensions length and depth wise being 115mm long and thickness of 10.5mm. Bold however is much wider with 65mm of width compared to 59mm of E6.

Display:
Both smart phones have TFT capacitive touchscreen. Blackberry Bold 9900 has the edge though with its larger display, 2.8 inch compared to 2.46 inch of E6.however the resolution of both the phones is same at 640 x 480 pixels.

Camera:
E6 has the clear advantage on this front with its 8MP camera having a maximum image resolution of 3264x2448 pixels with fixed focus and dual-LED flash. It records HD 720p video at 25fps. Blackberry Bold comes with a 5MP camera with maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and LED flash. It is also capable of recording 720p HD video. It also features geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization. Nokia E6 features geo tagging and face detection and also has a secondary VGA camera.

Processor and OS:
Blackberry 9900 features the new Blackberry 7 OS with impressive new features. E6 also comes with the Nokia’s latest Anna OS. Both the OS are relatively new but works well for each of these devices. The processing power of Blackberry is double that of E6 having a 1.2 GHz processor compared to 680 MHz processor of E6. 

Storage Capacity:
Both phones have same 8GB of internal storage capacity and memory extension supported up to 32GB. Blackberry Bold however has 768MB of RAM compared to 256MB in E6.

Conclusion:

Apart from the camera battle Blackberry Bold has a clear edge over Nokia E6 on all other fronts. Blackberry therefore is also priced on the higher side. I know you would be thinking, why did I actually even compare these two phones which are poles apart, well the only reason is their touch and type form factor. The best part of this new dual SIM series is the easy swap features which allows for easy changing of the SIM card without having to remove the battery, something that all dual SIM phones lacked up till now. It features a TFT capacitive touchscreen with 56k color. The screen size is 2.6 inches with resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. It comes with handwriting recognition feature.

The series 40 powered Nokia cell phone is the first one of this form factor and the third Nokia phone to feature a dual SIM function. Normally it is required to remove the battery to insert the SIM but Nokia C2-03’s easy swap feature allows you to open the slot on the side of the phone and insert the SIM without having to reboot. If you have more than two SIM cards can easily replace them without having to worry about the SIM settings as it is capable of remembering it for up to five SIM cards. HTC Chacha vs Nokia E6 Comparison

It started with Samsung Galaxy Pro and was followed by other mobile manufacturers like Nokia, Blackberry and now HTC. Design and Size:
In the candy bar form we mentioned, Nokia E6 seems more compact. Its QWERTY Keypad has keys are very much joined having hardly any gap between them whereas HTC desire keys are very much apart, making typing easier. HTC Chacha is also quiet wider having a width of 64.6mm compared to 59mm of Nokia E6. But Chacha weighs only 120g in contrast to 133g of E6.

Display:
HTC Chacha has a slightly bigger 2.6 inch capacitive TFT touch screen with resolution of 480 x 320 pixel compared to the same capacitive TFT display of E6 with resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Nokia E6 has better 16M color support in contrast to 256K colors in Chacha. HTC Chacha has HTC 2.1 UI.

Processor and OS:
HTC Chacha features 800 MHz processor and the latest Android 2.3(Gingerbread), Nokia E6 has a slightly less powerful 680MHz processor but its 2D/3D hardware acceleration card with OpenVG1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0 very much makes up for it.

The biggest difference between the two phones lies in the camera resolution. Nokia E6 takes lead with an 8MP camera autofocus camera with dual LED flash HTC Chacha features a 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash. Nokia E6 is able to record HD 720p video at 25fps, where as the Chacha records video maximum resolution of 720x480 pixels at 30 fps.Both phones have geo-tagging and face detection feature and a secondary VGA camera.

Nokia E6 has 8GB of internal memory, 256MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM. HTC Chacha comes with 512MB of RAM and same amount of ROM. The external memory can be extended up to 32GB via SD memory card in both devices.

Conclusion:

HTC Chacha has a trendy design which may not suit everyone specially the business class, however it has an edge over Nokia E6 in terms of Processor and Operating system. However, as an overall package, Nokia E6 would be a better buy specially for its simple yet professional design.

Nokia 500 Smartphone in India Soon

Nokia in a bid to compete with latest Android powered smartphones, launched their latest smartphone, Nokia 500 with a 1Ghz Processor. Nokia 500 has become the first Symbian mobile phone to have a 1Ghz processor. It comes with the Symbian Anna Operating system, making it the second smartphone of Anna OS after recently launched Nokia E6. Nokia 500 is an entry level smartphone with an expected price of Rs.7,500. The features are moreover same as previouslty launched Nokia C5-03. The major features includes 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS. The launch date and price is not finalized for India, however it is expected in India by September end.

Ergonomics:
Nokia 500 is quiet a giant device having 111mm of length and 14mm thick but the good part is that it still weighs a mere 93g. It has a decent surface finish and quiets a serious rectangular block look having edges that are hardly curved. It’ll be available in black and white colors for the moment but more colors will be available by the end of this year.

Display:
With a low entry device you can’t expect something like Super AMOLED but nevertheless Nokia 500 features a decent 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touch screen with resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and 16M color support. It also has an accelerometer sensor for auto rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn off.

Processor and OS:
The phones comes with a powerful 1GHZ processor which is the probably the best part of the device. It features the Nokia own latest ANNA OS.

Camera:
It features a decent 5MP camera with resolution of 2592х1944 pixels with geo tagging features. It is able to record VGA video at 15fps. The lack of LED flash with a 5MP camera is something that many Nokia fans would regret.

Storage:
The internal storage capacity is 2GB and the external memory extendable up to 32GB via SD memory card. Unlimited contacts can be stored in the phonebook and it keeps the call records.

Connectivity:
The phone features Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, and micro USB v2.0.

Nokia E6 Vs Samsung Galaxy Pro is a contest between two Touch and QWERTY keyboard smartphones in India with different OS. Samsung favors the Android for Galaxy Pro whereas Nokia goes for its own new OS powered by Symbian Anna. Let us compare the important features of these two smartphones to see which one comes on top.

Samsung Galaxy Pro is wider with a bigger screen and slightly larger QWERTY keyboard. E6 has more of a compact design with curved edges. Both phones are quiet slim with E6 having 10.5mm of thickness compared to 10.7mm of Galaxy Pro. Samsung just manages to gains the advantage when it comes to weight of the smart phone. Galaxy pro weighs only 103.4g compared to 133g Nokia E6. However, my preference goes to E6 as its easy to hold in comparison to Pro.

Both the manufacturers haven’t gone for the latest displays with these smart phones. Both phones feature a capacitive touchscreen with Galaxy Pro having 256K color support and E6 with 16M colors. Galaxy Pro however has a bigger 2.8inch screen compared to 2.46inch screen size of Nokia E6.

Processor and OS:
Nokia E6 features 680 MHz ARM 11 processor with 2D/3D Graphics HW Accelerator. Galaxy Pro has higher processing power of 800MHz but doesn’t have a graphics accelerator wit very much even out the performance. The major difference between the two smart phones is the OS they run. Galaxy Pro features Android 2.2(Froyo) and Nokia decides to go for it latest Anna OS with E6. Pro has an advantage on OS but I think the presence of Graphics accelerators will do the job for E6.

Camera:
Nokia E6 is way ahead on this front having an 8Mp camera with fixed focus, dual flash LED flash and resolution of 3264x2448 pixels. It is able to record HD 720p video at 25fps and support features such as geo-tagging and face detection. Galaxy Pro features a 3.15MP auto focus camera with resolution of 2048x1536 pixels it has smile shutter features and record QVGA video at 30fps. E6 also has a secondary VGA camera unlike Galaxy Pro.

Storage Capacity:
Nokia E6 is again a step ahead of the competitor providing much greater storage capacity with 8GB of internal storing capacity and 512MB of RAM and ROM t go with it. Galaxy Pro has 512MB of internal storing capacity and 270MB of RAM. Eternal memory can be extended up to 32 GB via micro SD card in both the smart phones.

Price in India:

Nokia E6 Price in India is Rs.17,000 and Galaxy Pro is Rs.9,000

Nokia E6 in India has superior features than Galaxy Pro however the new OS may be a bit of a concern against the already established Android platform. Users that prefer better multimedia features than apps would definitely go for Nokia E6.
