Nokia E6 vs Nokia E5 Mobile Comparison

Nokia has consistently upgraded its E-series also known as their business smartphone series in India. The most recent upgrade we saw came in the form of Nokia E6, an upgrade to E5. Nokia E6 is a much powerful phone and almost all the features of E5 have seen some serious upgrades. We have compared the important features of these to smart phones to find out what is new.

Looks and Size:
Nokia E6 retains the QWERTY keyboard form but has a larger screen, 2.46inch compared to 2.36inch of E5. E6 is slimmer than its predecessor, it is only 10mm thick but weighs 133g compared to 126g of E5.Unlike E5 Nokia E6 seems to have a better design and built the metal body is surely going to be more attractive with excellent paint and finish. It won’t be wrong to say that this is probably the most handsome E-series smart phone from Nokia so far.

Display:
Unlike Nokia E5 TFT 256k color screen, E6 has a capacitive touch screen with 16M color support and resolution of 600*480. The display is gorilla glassed with multi-touch support, proximity sensor and accelerometer.

Camera:
Nokia E5 features a decent 5MP camera but E6 is loaded with one that is 8MP fixed focus with dual LED. It also carries the geo-tagging and smile detection features and can record 720pHD video at 25fps unlike VGA recording at 15fps from E5.

Operating System:
E6 is the first Nokia phone to feature their new Anna OS, nothing much can be said about this new OS yet but it will surely be way ahead of the Symbian 9.3 in E5.

Processor:
Nokia E6 processor hasn’t seen a major upgrade infect its has the same 600MHz ARM11 processor as E5 but the addition on of 2D/3D HW graphics accelerator is surely going to enhance the performance a great deal.

Storage Capacity:
Nokia E5 provides only 256MB of internal memory and same amount of RAM but E6 has a huge 8GB of internal storage capacity, 256MB RAM and 1GB of ROM. Both phones have memory card slots to extend the memory upto 32GB via microsd card.

Connectivity:
The Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP of E5 has been upgraded to v3.0 with A2DP in E6, Nokia E6 also provides USB on the go feature.

Conclusion:
In terms of features Nokia E6 is better in all respects compared to E5, however the pricing is the Issue. Nokia E5 is no doubt one of the best qwerty phones in India at a Price of Rs.9,000. The new Nokia E6 is priced at Rs.18,000 which is quite high. My suggestion would be to either wait for E6 prices to fall or go for E5. Its no point putting 18,000 for E6.
