Motorola Fire is different than most of theQWERTY design smartphones and Curve 8520 in the sense that is has the portraitscreen format compared to the traditional landscape format in Curve 8520. Fireis 116.5mm long compared to 109mm length of Curve 8520. Blackberry curve isalso a little wider, 60mm in contrast to 58mm width of Fire. Motorola fire isthinner than the competitor having depth of 13.5mm compared to 13.9mm of Curve8520. With a decent design and not much of a difference in dimension we cancall this a tie.

Display:
Motorola Fire features a 2.8 inch TFTcapacitive touchscreen having a resolution of320*240 pixels compared to 2.46inch TFT screen of Curve 8520. Motorola Fire with a bigger touchscreen andbetter color support of 256K compared to 65K in Curve 8520 is a clear winner.

Conclusion:
Motorola Fire leads on all front specially because of the Android OS and 3G. Blackberry 8520 still has their own loyal, however it is set to lose here except if you are not a hardcore Blackberry fan.

The latest mobile brand to join this league is Blackberry with the launch of their latest touchscreen QWERTY mobile; Blackberry Bold 9900 aka Bold 4. Nokia also recently launched a similar mobile phone; Nokia E6 in India. This post is to compare these two mobile phones.

Size and Design:
As already mentioned this is the battle between the QWERTY keyboard giants. Both the smart phones have full QWERTY keyboard design. Blackberry Bold 9900 has probably got the best one on it seen so far on Blackberry phones. Nokia’s keyboard is not far behind too. Both the smart phones have very much the same dimensions length and depth wise being 115mm long and thickness of 10.5mm. Bold however is much wider with 65mm of width compared to 59mm of E6.

Display:
Both smart phones have TFT capacitive touchscreen. Blackberry Bold 9900 has the edge though with its larger display, 2.8 inch compared to 2.46 inch of E6.however the resolution of both the phones is same at 640 x 480 pixels.

Camera:
E6 has the clear advantage on this front with its 8MP camera having a maximum image resolution of 3264x2448 pixels with fixed focus and dual-LED flash. It records HD 720p video at 25fps. Blackberry Bold comes with a 5MP camera with maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and LED flash. It is also capable of recording 720p HD video. It also features geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilization. Nokia E6 features geo tagging and face detection and also has a secondary VGA camera.

Processor and OS:
Blackberry 9900 features the new Blackberry 7 OS with impressive new features. E6 also comes with the Nokia’s latest Anna OS. Both the OS are relatively new but works well for each of these devices. The processing power of Blackberry is double that of E6 having a 1.2 GHz processor compared to 680 MHz processor of E6.

Storage Capacity:
Both phones have same 8GB of internal storage capacity and memory extension supported up to 32GB. Blackberry Bold however has 768MB of RAM compared to 256MB in E6.

Conclusion:
Apart from the camera battle Blackberry Bold has a clear edge over Nokia E6 on all other fronts. Blackberry therefore is also priced on the higher side. I know you would be thinking, why did I actually even compare these two phones which are poles apart, well the only reason is their touch and type form factor. Nokia E6 is available in India at Rs.15,600 and Blackberry Bold 9900 is available at Rs.32,000

Blackberry Messenger 6 Features Review

Blackberry messenger 6 has now been launched by RIM with claims to revolutionize your social experience. What’s different about messenger 6 is that it has a support for connected apps and integrates deeply in to the third party apps like Wikitude. With this new app you are able to send messages to your friends not having the IM client. Your conservations are nicely displayed in the user manual. It’ll also take your gaming experience to a new level with the messenger built right in to them. What all that means is that now you’ll be able to carry on with the chatting and interacting with friends when inside the blackberry connected app while playing games or using applications. You can also invite your friends to join you while playing and recommend them an application while inside it by selecting them from the contact list. You can also post the apps to your profile to let your fiends know which applications you’ve been using.

For the moment the connected applications includes only Foursquare and Wikitude in addition to a lot of other games but you’ll soon see more connected apps being added to the this list. BlackBerry users who are using BB OS v4.5 or higher can now download the new Blackberry messenger 6 from their App World. The launch of this application is a clear indication that BlackBerry hasn’t lost hope to regain its position in the cell phone world which along with other manufactures saw a tough phase since the launch of the Apple iPhone. Lot will depend on how the new phones do which BlackBerry is planning to launch in coming days.

With out a doubt BlackBerry messenger 6 is something that social networking and gaming geeks have long been waiting for and with no such app around BlackBerry is surely going to get the attention of lot of users and a it has a great chance to get a stronger grip on the market share quickly. Apple the main Blackberry competitor will be keeping a close eye on its progress as it itself is looking to launch its own messenger application with iOS 5 named iMessenger.

HTC Sensation vs Blackberry Torch Comparison

Smartphones in India has new to offer everyday. Recently we saw the launch of Dual Core HTC Sensation. BlackBerry Torch and HTC sensation are the symbols of innovation with each device aiming to bed different than their predecessors. Let’s see who is aiming higher and which ones comes on top in this battle of innovation and class as we compare the important feature of both these phones.

Size and Design:
HTC always has something different about it design but sensation goes a step ahead having a longer, much thinner and a sleek design something that you haven’t seen much with HTC phones. The edges are curved but not over done with a nice finish right though out the surface. It weighs 148g.Blackberry is finally trying to come out of their typical design mode and looking to produce more elegant devices. BlackBerry Torch is probably the more stylish of the Blackberry devices so far thanks to its giant screen, angular shape, and sliding out QWERTY keyboard. The phone weighs 161g but the stylish looks have it very much covered.

Display:
The two phones belong to a different class when it comes to the display front. Phones with QWERTY keyboard are usually the ones not getting into the 4.0inch category ,same is the case with Blackberry torch having a 3.2inch TFT capacitive touch screen with 360*480 resolution an optical track pad and multiple touch feature.HTC desire however is way ahead , featuring a Sony made 4.3 inch S-LCD capacitive touch screen gorilla glass display with a resolution of 540*960 pixels.HTC has loaded the sensation with its 3.0UI, multitouch, gyro sensors and accelerometer features.HTC desire is clearly the winner on the display front.

Storage:
Torch provides an impressive 4GB of internal storage with the RAM and ROM each having 512MB to go with it. The storage capacity can be extended with the help of micro SD card supportive up to 32GB. HTC desire only has 1GB of internal memory but slightly greater 768MB of RAM. The external storage can be extended up to 32 GB same like the Torch. Additional RAM on Sensation is a plus but greater storage capacity of Torch takes it in front.

Operating System:
Torch uses the Blackberry’s own BB6.0 OS and sensation relies on the increasingly popular latest version of Google Android. It would be hard to compare the two as both are designed according to their own preferences. BB6.0 offer excellent business tools where you can easily organize your files and contacts where as Android 2.3 offers a greater customization features.

Processor:
Sensation signifies its power with a dual core 1.2Ghz processor, something that is quiet rear so far on smart phones. Such high power processer allows multitasking, browsing the web at a much higher speed and a quick overall response from your device. Torch, even though nowhere close to the 1.2 GHz dual core processor, has a decent enough processor that performs the task quiet efficiently at a quick speed.

Camera:
HTC features an 8Mp camera that is able to record HD videos at either 720p or 1080p and go with it offer numerous image enhancing features. Torch features a decent enough 5MP camera capable of recording high quality videos and images.

Conclusion:
Its quiet clear now that HTC sensation is one from the heavy weight category with its extremely powerful features and processing power. Blackberry Torch may not be as powerful but still has a lot to offer, a phone that is quiet capable of doing its job efficiently. However, if you can afford then definitely go for HTC Sensation else Blackberry Torch is not a bad option either.

HTC Sensation Price in India is Rs.30,000 and Blackberry Torch Price in India is Rs.25,000

Blackberry Torch vs Nokia E7 Comparison

Blackberry and Nokia are one of the best smartphones brand in India. The two giants have been relied upon heavily in the past but they have seen significant drop in appeal for their business smart phones recently. The major reason for this lack of interest on part of customers may well be the Apple‘s iPhone and a number of Smartphones by Samsung in India.

Blackberry Torch and Nokia E7 are the recent attempt of these mobile giants to bring themselves back in the demanding market of smartphones in India. This comparison of important features of the two smartphones will determine which company is heading with the right perspective to get their market share back.

Design And Display:
Both the smart phones are sliders. Blackberry continues with the old-fashioned QWERTY keyboard this time with a TFT touchscreen in sliding mode. The keyboard is nice and easy to work with and the phone gives you a pleasing feeling in hand. E7 slider has more of a mini laptop look that we have already seen with many Nokia business phones. Nokia opts for the rather modern AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16m support. E7 has a larger screen size of 4.0 inches compared to 3.2 inch screen of Torch. Although Torch weighs slightly lesser than E7, 161g Vs 176g, E7 is will still be the winner with better design and display.

Operating System:
Nokia E7 is a Symbian3 based device while Torch used the Blackberry6 OS with improved social networking features, improved webkit browsing experience. Symbian 3 operating system is what is going to let Nokia down, its simply just not enough to compete with Blackberry 6 and sometimes even a let down for its own hardware.

Processor:
No surprises as far as the processing power is concerned on both the end with both manufactures not going for the latest 1Ghz processor that many competitors are opting for. Torch has 624 MHz processor with 512 MB of RAM and ROM and E7 comes with 680Mhz with 1GB ROM and 256MB of RAM. Both smart phones have decent Mail, office and synchronizing features. Even Stevens!

Storage Capacity:
We have seen the entertainment packed phones with tons of storage capacity but this is probably more important when it comes to a business phone. E7 has a handsome 16GB of internal storage capacity but unfortunately comes with no memory card support. Torch has 4GB of internal memory but also supports SD card up to 32GB

Camera:
This is torch 5MP Vs E7’s 8MP. You may straight away make the call of E7 winning but what’s we are happy to see a 5MP camera from Blackberry and that too in a business phone.

Connectivity:
E7 is fully equipped with the latest connectivity feature with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, Micro USB v2.0 and USB on the go feature. Torch has Wifi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and Micro USB v 2.0

Nokia E7 is very much in lead on all the fronts but the Symbian 3 OS is a real let down and with so much emphasis being laid on OS especially in a business phone Blackberry might just have the final say.

Price in India:

Blackberry Torch Price in India is Rs.29,000. Buy It Here at Rs.28,000
Nokia E7 Price in India is Rs.30,000. Buy It Here at Rs.27,800

BlackBerry Tour 9630 Review in India

BlackBerry Tour 9630 is low range BlackBerry phone from RIM. If you compare it with any feature phone it will be one of the best phones on the other hand if you try it comparing with some smartphone you will be truly disappointed. This phone is for the real business professionals for whenever you are. The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is the first Global 3G BlackBerry phone released from RIM (Research In Motion). The features look and form factor of this phone is already showing that this is a phone for the professionals and the addition of Word, Excel or PowerPoint has made this phone a perfect business tool enabling you to finish your unfinished jobs on the go. The phone looks like the BlackBerry bold at first but after some using the differences start to come out and the good side is that the differences are all good. To start with, the BlackBerry Tour features higher resolution in the display which is 480x360 where the Bold features 480x320 pixels resolution though the difference is not that noticeable. The app support of this phone is not too bad but if you are habituated to the iOS then it will take some time to get you habituated. The 3.2-megapixel camera’s quality is good and they serve a good purpose of a camera as the images captured with full resolution looked quite sharp. The loudspeaker is not so good but the feature of standard 3.5mm jack will cover up the lacking of loudspeaker and give you a good bit of entertainment. Sending and receiving emails are very comfortable and easy for which the BlackBerrys famous and popular for. There is feature for using up to 11 email accounts together in this phone though you will be able to use 10 personal email accounts and the number 11 email account will be the BlackBerry client. And comparing to the perfection the BlackBerry email client is a lot better and less buggy than the other emails.

Review:
The world roaming capabilities of this phone surpasses all the features of many modern smartphones of BlackBerry Tour 9630. The 3.2-megapixel camera is also something different from RIM as they are mostly emphasizing on the business purpose only keeping the entertainment section of their phones mostly useless. The app world of BlackBerry features a good number of apps you will be using. If you are a huge user of apps and you are used to the Google Marketplace or Apple Appstore then this app world from RIM is not for you. But if you want some apps that serve your purpose and looking good is not important to you the BlackBerry App World should be more than enough for you. The absence of Wi-Fi is visible too much as it is an impossible feature to miss in the phones of now a days. On the other hand the presence of 3G connectivity solves your data problem as it is also an important feature for a business ready phone. This phone has the access to both GSM and CDMA network. So, you are wherever in this world and whatever the network it is, GSM or CDMA you will be connected without changing your number. We all know the Blackberry phones for their some conventional features and functions. This time with the new Blackberry Torch 9800, Blackberry tries to come out of the conventional form factor. The Blackberry Torch 9800 is a slider phone with an unusual big touchscreen on it compared to other Blackberry phones. This is also the first phone from Blackberry which features the BlackBerry 6 OS. It has many features that will give you the comfort of a desktop PC especially when you are browsing the internet or multitasking. The stock browser features tabbed browsing also which makes it unnecessary to download another browser to browse faster. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 also comes with some handy preloaded apps including Slacker Radio, ESPN, and Bloomberg etc. and of course the social networking apps like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other networks. This smartphone has built in Wireless-N Wi-Fi feature which will enable you to use any of the 20,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots without any cost if you have the eligible smartphone plan. Unlike the most low quality cameras of BlackBerry handsets the BlackBerry Torch features a 5-megapixel camera with both autofocus and image stabilization. With the network advantage of AT&T you can send your emails, browse the internet and talk at the same time without interrupting or stopping the other. The internal storage is 4GB and you will be provided with another 4GB microSD card in the box. You can sync your music to GB microSD card in the box. You can sync your music to your BlackBerry Torch 9800 with both iTunes or Windows Media Player. The powerful 624MHz processor runs the new BlackBerry 6 OS smoothly and let you multitask freely. It has GPS navigation capabilities with the AT&T Navigator service which features real time traffic updates. You can use your own music stereo headphone with the 3.5mm stereo jack or also via the Bluetooth to connect your wireless headset. Blackberry Torch 9800 Review:
A regular BlackBerry user will find it very different from the other BlackBerry phones. Especially the capacitive touchscreen is really something new BlackBerry is trying. The browser was also always the weakest point of every BlackBerry phone which they have shown false in the Blackberry Torch 9800. Though they are not as good or smooth as the browsers of iOS or Android phones but the tabbed browser is sure something where BlackBerry has improved. The camera is good too and the flash is very powerful compared to most of the flash of the phone cameras. The slide out physical keyboard is really narrow and sometimes it will slow you down as it is hard to press a separate key in the narrow keyboard. When the most of the phones of today are getting on the high speed processors of 1GHz BlackBerry have just took it to a low range 624GHz level which is not so impressing at all.

Advantages:
·         Access to BlackBerry App world
·         Good at the basic features, calling and texting
·         4GB card included
·         5 MP camera
·         Fast and smooth BlackBerry 6 OS
·         Fast processor
·         Smooth internet browsing
·         Multitasking
·         Smooth slider mechanism
·         Expandable with up to 32GB card
·         Pinch to zoom
·         Good battery life
·         Excellent camera quality
·         Improved notification system
·         QWERTY keyboard

Disadvantages:
·         Low resolution screen
·         Slow processor
·         Video recording quality is still VGA
·         Browsing is still not perfect
